Mr. Woods was born March 28, 1927, in Millport, AL, to the late Marvin Dewey and Addie Mae Richards Woods. He was valedictorian of Millport High School and a graduate of Livingston University. Mr. Woods was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. He was a retired lab technician, having worked for Hooker Oldbury Chemical for 27 years and Eka Nobel Chemical for 11 years. Mr. Woods was a life long member of the East Columbus Church of Christ and so many knew him as "The Blueberry Man" at the farmers market where he loved seeing and visiting with all his friends and neighbors.
Survivors include his wife, Willena Strickland Woods of Columbus, MS, daughter, Sherree W. Woods of Columbus, MS, sons, Alan Wade Woods and his wife Debbie of Robertsdale, AL, and Shelley Thomas Woods of Columbus, MS, sister, Lucile Woods Willis of Fayette, AL, and grandsons, A. Flynn Woods and Cole S. Woods, both of Robertsdale, AL.
Pallbearers will be Alan Woods, Shelley Woods, Flynn Woods, Cole Woods, Greg Willis, and Joe Reed.
