Mr. Billy H. Leonard, Sr., age 78, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, April 18, 2011. He was born February 12, 1933 in Oak Hill, Ohio to Clarence and Hazel Leonard. Mr. Leonard worked for Brunswick Corporation for over 40 years before retiring in 1994. In April of 1954 he married the former Carol L. Cooper in Muskegon. Mr. Leonard enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, and watching the tubers float down the river in front of his house.

He is survived by five children, Debra (David) Martin of Muskegon, Billy (Sally) Leonard, Jr. of Nunica, Alan (Connie) Leonard of Ravenna, Jeffery Leonard of Shelby, Christine (Dan) Dalten of Cadiz, KY; 18 grandchildren, David and Devin Martin, Sara and Adam Leonard, Kevin and Linda Leonard, Kyle, Kelli, and Ashley Leonard, Kenny, Jeffery, Jr., Jessica, Samantha, and Skyler Leonard, John, Shaina, Shawn, and James Driver; 18 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Lloyd, Dale, Monte, Gary, Dennis (Rosa) Leonard; four sisters, Rosalie (Ronnie) Straight, Beverly (Ross) Campbell, Linda (Dwight) Woods, Shelba (Ronnie) Adkins; former spouse, Carol L. Norton; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin Leonard; and two brothers, Ronnie and Darrell Leonard.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Kuhner-Lewis Funeral Home, 202 W. Maple Ave., Oak Hill, with Pastor Stan Howard officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1to 3 p.m. Friday afternoon. Burial will take place in Horeb Cemetery. Memorials to the American Heart Association will be appreciated.
