Schwoerer, Edward G.

Edward G. Schwoerer, age 88, a Two Rivers resident, entered eternal life on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Atrium Post Acute Care Center, 1 Hamilton Drive, Two Rivers.

Ed was born December 31, 1927 in the town of Liberty, Manitowoc County. He was the son of the late Ulrich and Clara Bogenschueltz Schwoerer, the youngest of nine children in the family. Ed farmed the family farm in the town of Liberty near St. Nazianz for his entire lifetime until he retired in 1990. After retiring Ed moved to Manitowoc and later to Two Rivers. He enjoyed keeping busy. He willingly helped neighbors whenever and however he could. He knew the importance of hard work and the value of a dollar earned. Ed dressed up to run errands around town and was rarely seen without his cap. Not one for luxury or extravagance, Ed enjoyed simple pleasures like a job well done, a good cup of coffee, a hamburger and fries, a drive through the country, a good Brewer baseball game or Packer football game and dessert, always dessert.

Those who knew Ed best recall his generosity, delightful sense of humor, mischievous nature and flirtatious manner. Although he never married or had children, Ed was surrounded by loved ones who called him family. His absence is felt and he is greatly missed.

He is survived by his sister: Loretta Vogel, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Private graveside services are being planned for a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Online condolences to the family may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
