Jeffrey Lamar “Jeff” Fields, age 55, of Ranger, passed away Friday afternoon March 4th in Floyd Medical Center.
Jeff was born August 15, 1960 in Fairmount, son of the late George William Fields and Blanche Owens Fields. He was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church and was employed by Mohawk for 30 years. Jeff was a man that loved his family and adored his grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his mother and father in law; Murray and Mary Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Maggie Johnson Fields of Ranger; two daughters, Joan DeFreese and her husband David and Melody Hogan and her husband Jason all of Calhoun; one brother, Roy Fields of Conyers; two sisters, Carol Boyd and her husband Stanley of Fairmount and Martha Bullock and her husband Chester of Ranger. Three grandchildren, Tiffany, Anthony and Alanna also survive.
Graveside Rites will be conducted Sunday March 6th at 4pm from the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery with Michael Bullock officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday afternoon from 5 until 8pm and on Sunday from 2 until 3pm.
