Peggy Joan Higgins, 76, St. Marys, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Acuity Specialty Hospital in Bellaire, OH. Born in Pleasants County, WV, on October 16, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Woodrow and Nellie Cross Higgins. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church and had a strong faith in God. Peggy was retired from the Colin Anderson Center and was a member of the Pleasants County Humane Society. She enjoyed painting, crafting, cooking, collecting cookbooks, church camp, cooking for church camp, and spending time with her family and church family.

Survivors include one sister, Rita Higgins; three nephews, Charles “Chuck” (Cyndi) Higgins, Jr., Jeffrey “Jeff” (Debra) Higgins, and Chad (Gloria) Higgins; one niece, Louann Higgins; great nieces and nephews, Lisa Anne, Marcus, Gabrielle, Alison, and Kaitlin; one great-great nephew, Zaydyn; one great-great niece, Annabelle; and many beloved cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles Higgins, Sr.

Funeral service will be 11:00 Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Mt. Pleasant Church with Pastor Jimmy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
