Doyle Ray Dover, 76, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016, at his home under Hospice care.

Doyle was b orn March 5, 1939 in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of Dwight and Delora (Colyer) Dover.

In 1957, Doyle married Conny Treasure.

Doyle is survived by his wife, Conny of the home; four children, Beth Stone, Bryan (Lois) Dover, Brent Dover, and Tonya (Andy) Grimm; one brother and sister-in-law, Doren and LaVern Dover; sister-in-law, Karen Prewitt; brothers-in-law, Larry (Cathy) Treasure, Bobby (Verna) Treasure, Roger (Sherry) Treasure and Randy Treasure; six grandchildren, Michael Stone, Michelle (Stone) McCollum, Taylor Grim, Alex Grimm, Breanne Dover and Jared Dover; two great-grandchildren, Colleen McCollum and Cooper McCollum, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Elizabeth Treasure and a brother-in-law, Roger Prewitt.

Doyle was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1957. In 1954 Doyle and his brother operated the Beehive Restaurant. He joined the National Guard in 1957 and served eleven years. Doyle graduated from Molar Barber College in 1958 and from 1958 to 1970 owned Dover Barber Shop. From 1970 to 1971, Doyle managed the Holiday Inn in Corpus Christi, Texas. In 1972 he opened the Zodiac Club in Kirksville. From 1975 to 1977, Doyle and Conny managed the Shamrock Restaurant and Bar. Doyle owned and managed NEMO Recycling from 1989 to 1998, retiring to oversee Dover Rental properties.

In 2012, Doyle was honored with the American Red Cross Good Samaritan Hero Award and the ATSU Still Spirit Award.

Interment at East Center Cemetery, east of Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Dover, Brent Dover, Andy Grimm, Michael Stone, Jared Dover and Alex Grimm. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Rogers, Steve Barber, John Bartling, Derek Ruebel, Sam Ayers and Eddie Buck.
