On Dec. 31, 1969, Jerold was united in marriage to Linda Hanson in Webster, SD. Upon graduating from college he returned to the family farm. Jerold was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellendale, ND, where he held several offices over the years including deacon, trustee and Sunday school secretary. He enjoyed raising cattle and going to the sale barn. He also enjoyed his motorcycle, Chevy pickup and working on cars. Jerold faithfully called his mother every morning and he loved spending time with his three grandsons.
Jerold died July 26, 2004, at Frederick, SD. Grateful to have shared in his life are his wife: Linda Krause; daughter: Teresa (Dan) Blondo; mother: Elsie Krause; three grandsons; sister: Coreen (Curt) Niederbaumer; one nephew and one niece; Uncle Harvey and Aunt Nadine Miller, Aunt Elaine Krause, Aunt Ruth Krause and Aunt Marcella Krause.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Krause, grandparents, several aunts and uncles.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Hoven Funeral Chapel in Ellendale, ND, with Pastor Steve Tvedt officiating. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Hoven Funeral Chapel. Burial is at the Ellendale City Cemetery. Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale, is in charge of arrangements.
