Mary Olive Shrout, 93, of Redwood Drive, Richmond, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky. She was born in Bath County, Kentucky on May 17, 1922 the daughter of the late John and Mary Alice Razor McVey. She was a member of the Donaldson Road Baptist Church, and a retired employee of Walmart for 19 years and Jerry’s Restaurant for 26 years. She was the widow of Ralph Jouett Shrout.
She is survived by a son, John M. “Ned” (Leann) Shrout of Richmond, KY; a daughter, Peggy (Larry) Kelley of Richmond, KY; three grandchildren, Mike (Marcia) Shrout of Lexington, KY, Stephen Shrout of Richmond, KY, Krista (Chuck) Isaacs of Berea, KY; two special nieces, Mary (Jim) Ring of Mt. Sterling and Mary Margaret Patterson of Austin, TX; and a nephew, Ricky (Debbie) Miller of Lenore, CA.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Cecil Curtis officiating and burial following in the Longview Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday evening from 5-8 pm at the Taul Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Chuck Isaacs, Mike Shrout, Steve Shrout, Jay Ring, Shaun Ring and Robert Owen McCoy. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Ring, Larry Kelley, Glen Lewis and Ricky Miller. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Donaldson Road Baptist Church, 811 Arlington Avenue, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.
