Black Mountain - Rick Allison, 69, of Black Mountain, passed away at the Charles George VA Medical Center on April 27, 2014 after a period of declining health.

His parents, William Allison and Ophelia Burns, and brother, David Parris preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Linda Allison; sons, Will (Megan) and Case Allison of Black Mountain; three granddaughters, (Tegan, Kaylee and Riley); and his brother, Gary Allison (Margaret) of Northville, Michigan.

He was a graduate of Owen High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Rick was a First Lieutenant with the US Army Infantry and served in Viet Nam. He was a financial advisor, beginning his career with Merrill Lynch on Wall Street in NYC. He retired recently from Raymond James Financial Services.

Rick spent most of his life in his beloved Black Mountain. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and supporter of all UNC sports. He dearly loved his grandchildren and spent some of the happiest times in his life playing with them.

His family and many lifelong friends will miss his quick wit and razor sharp sense of humor.
