Zelda Graham

Ava, MO

Zelda Graham, 83 years, 2 months, and 30 days old, passed to Heaven on February 29, 2016 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center with her family by her side.

Zelda was born November 30, 1932 in Rippee, MO to Rube and Bertha (Nall) Graham.

Zelda was a lifelong resident of Ava, MO and worked for many years at Sue’s Café and the Happy Hour where she loved giving people a hard time.

Zelda was a Christian and attended Church of the Living God. She enjoyed playing softball (and never with a glove) in the field above the Burchell Hotel. Zelda loved riding roller coasters, and roller skating. She also enjoyed Thursday Night Music, playing pitch, keeping score at softball tournaments, sitting in her chair on the front porch, spoiling her grandchildren, and being with her family and friends.

A family gathering was not complete without Zelda and her “famous” potato salad. She also loved cooking for her family, especially biscuits and gravy and fried chicken.

Zelda was preceded in death by her parents; three daughters, Diane Garner, Connie Graham, and Brenda Graham; two sisters, Thelma Burchell and Esther Wilkey; and four brothers, Don Graham, Earl Thurman, James Graham, and Audie Graham.

Zelda is survived by three sons, Marvin Graham and wife Renee, Thornfield, MO; Rick and wife Debbie, Ava, MO; and Keith Graham and wife Twayna, Ava, MO; 9 grandchildren, Shannon Garner, Holly Wickware, Ryan Graham, Sherri Cash, Sharon Curtis, Brandy Graham, Chelsey Knepley, MiKaela Bristol, and KiLeigh Bristol; 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; one brother, Bob Graham and wife Claire; special niece, Bonnie Bolding; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Zelda will be Friday, March 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn and Brother Ray Dobbs. Memorials may be made to the family as a love offering.
