Mrs. Evelyn Pearl McDonald Hess, 81, of Martinsburg, died Monday at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD.

Mrs, Hess, born in Martinsburg, WV; was the daughter of the late William Nelson and Melissa Jane Largent McDonald and the widow of Victor Kenneth Hess. She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by eight brothers, Roy, Harry, Hermon, Dewey, Charles, Junior, Melvin and Max McDonald and five sisters, Daisy Ganoe, Ellouise McDonald, Lillie Faircloth, Ethel McDaniel and Mattie Hess.

She was a member of the Martinsburg Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Hess and wife Pam and Christopher Hess and wife Pam; three grandchildren, Jason Hess, Brooke Gamble and husband Josh, and Christiana Hess; and two great grandchildren, Makailee Wood and Brennan Gamble.

The family received friends 6-8 pm, Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the funeral home.

The funeral services were held at 1 pm, Sunday, March 6, 2016 in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tom Boggess officiating.

Burial was made in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.
