Gladys Louise (Thurman) Daniels, 90, of Battle Creek, died Tuesday February 23, 2016 at Care Community in Springfield, Michigan. Gladys was born on Waldens Ridge in Bledsoe County, Tennessee to Obie Darr and Della Cordelia (Harris) Thurman on March 27, 1925. On December 23, 1948, Gladys married the love of her life, John Ernest Daniels in Angola, Indiana. They lived their entire married life in Battle Creek. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1996. Gladys was also predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Rosie Mathis and Rachel Dodson; six brothers, Lawrence, Elder, Leonard, Floyd, Ralph and Spencer (Buster). Gladys was a good wife, sister, mother and aunt. Everyone loved Aunt Gladys. She loved children as they did her. She loved her kitty cats that she called her babies. She was a joy to be around and loved the outdoors and flowers. The Bleeding Heart was the favorite flower of both her and her mother. Gladys was buried in a private service at Fort Custer National Cemetery next to her husband on Friday, February 26, 2016. Arrangements were by the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service.
