Dan "Dude" Howard age 71 of Salyersville, Ky., passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky.

He was born August 18, 1944 in Salyersville, Ky., to the late Sam and Alda Lykins Howard.

Dan was a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, Dan is preceded in death by three brothers John Howard, Kenneth Howard and Fred Howard, and four sisters Arta Hale, Jolene Hahn, Naomi Elrod and Kay Rice.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Howard and Shawn Howard both of Salyersville, Ky., one brother, Don Howard of Berea, Ky., and one grandson, Derek Howard.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016, from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel, with Doug Dunn and Don McFarland officiating. Burial will follow in the Howard Cemetery at Burning Fork, Kentucky.
