REV. JOSEPH LEROY HILLIARD, age 92, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at his residence in Dodge County.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, March 4, in Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Mitchell Brown officiating, with interment in Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery.
Rev. Hilliard was born in Rhine, GA, and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a Baptist minister for over 60 years and a U.S. Army World War II Veteran. Rev. Leroy was son of the late Betty Hilliard & John Hilliard and was preceded in death by his Wife – Bettyse Pitts Hilliard and 2 Sisters – Ruth Purvis and Sammie Lou Skipper.
The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel one hour before funeral services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you plant a fruit tree in your yard in memory of Rev. Hilliard.
