Services for Mrs. Julia Elizabeth (Judy) Boswell of Destin, Fla., 18 were held Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock in Thweatt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Riley Munday officiating. Burial will be in Beevers Cemetery with Thweatt’s in charge.
Mrs. Boswell was killed at 7:30 p. m. Sunday in an automobile accident at Dixon Mills, Ala. As she and he husband, Curtis Boswell, were enroute to Florida following a week-end visit in Cleveland with their parents. Accompanying them were Clyde Boswell, brother of her husband and Bobby Elliott, her brother. They were not seriously injured.
Born in Cleveland, Miss., she had lived here during her lifetime and attended Cleveland Public Schools. A graduate of Cleveland High School, she was a cheerleader, delegate to Girl’s State, lettered in track and basketball. She was name most outstanding athlete, a school beauty and was Homecoming Queen in 1959. She was married to Curtis Boswell December 24, 1960 in Cleveland and moved to Destin, Fla. Where she had been residing since then. She was a member of the first Methodist Church in Cleveland.
She leaves her husband, Curtis Richard Boswell of Destin, Fla.; her mother, Mrs. Opal Williams Elliott of Cleveland; two brothers, Robert Elliott and Charles Elliott, both of Cleveland.
Pallbearers were Wendell Blackwell, Gerald Jacks, Foster Hollingsworth,
Johnny Norquist, Donnell McNeer and Roy Collins.
