PRIVATE RITES SET FOR YOUTH FATALLY BURNED

Private funeral services for Blaine H. Carpenter, 3-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Carpenter, (Albert B. Carpenter and Lillian Blaine Powell) 656 East Sixth South street, will be held Tuesday afternoon in the Hall-Ricketts mortuary. Burial will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
The boy was fatally burned Monday morning at his home when a bathrobe which he was wearing was ignited from an open grate. He was playing with his twin sister, Shirley, when the accident occurred. Frightened when he saw the flames, little Blaine ran to his mother in the kitchen, who, with her bare hands, extinguished the blaze, but too late to prevent the youngster from being severely burned. He was rushed to a general hospital, but death occurred soon after.
He is survived by his parents and six brothers and sisters.
