He was born on April 14, 1958 in Muncie the son of John K. Jeffers, II and Lois E. (Tobey) Jeffers, graduated from Cowan High School in 1976 and was the Student Council President. Jim received his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Ball State University in 1982 and his Master’s Degree in Information Systems from Strayer University of Birmingham in 2009.
Jim worked as an IT for Vulcan Materials in Birmingham, AL for eighteen years.
Surviving are his wife, Lynn; his mother, Lois E. Jeffers, Muncie; his step-son, Nathan Shewman; his step-daughter, Amy Smith (husband, Marko); two brothers, John K. Jeffers, III (wife, Tina), Ft. Myers, FL and Jerry W. Jeffers, I (wife, Jodi), Warren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016, in Mt. Summit Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cancer Services of East Central Indiana (Little Red Door), 2311 W. Jackson St., Muncie, IN 47303 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
