Orville Kenneth Gibson, 79 of Brenham, passed away on February 14, 2016 at the College Station Medical Center. He was born on May 28, 1936 in Normangee, Texas to Primmie Mize and Orville Austin Gibson. Mr. Gibson moved from Houston to Brenham in the early 90s. He worked as a general contractor, building houses and remodeling homes. Mr. Gibson was a coach, vice president and president of the North Houston National Little League. The Little League went to the World Series two times and has a baseball field named after him in Houston at the baseball park where he coached and his team played at. He was liked by everyone. His team won the United States National Little League Championship in 2000. Mr. Gibson enjoyed hunting and fishing and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his wife, Darlene Taylor Gibson of Brenham; son, Chris Gibson & wife, Donna of Somerville; brother, Dwayne Gibson & wife, Relda of Katy; brother Larry Gibson & wife, Dollie of Corpus Christie; sisters-in-law, Linda Lane & husband, Lloyd Lane of Somerville and Alice Boyce & husband Tim Boyce of Somerville; grandchildren, Kaylee Elizabeth Gibson, Emilo Hernandez, William & Ryan Peters. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Friday March 4th at the Madisonville Funeral Home with visitation from 11 A.M. to 2: P.M. prior to service time. Burial will follow in the Sand Prairie Cemetery near Normangee, Texas. Services will be under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home.
