Otis Dean Bell age 92 passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Kansas Christian Home in Newton, Kansas. He was born to Charles Otis Bell and Gladys Ellen Olson on December 10, 1923 in Lebanon, Kansas

He was born & raised on the family farm 3 miles west & 3 ½ miles north of Lebanon, Kansas and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1941.

Dean met Paula Mae Bradley in his senior year and they were married in Lebanon, KS on March 20, 1943.

Dean served in the Army Air Corp from 1943 – 1944. He went to Mississippi State for a short time as a requirement for becoming a pilot. After military service they went back to live on the farm in a small house next to his parents, where they had 4 children: Judy, Cindy, Gary & Billy. In 1953 they moved to Kansas City where he attended electronics school. In 1954 after graduating they moved to Salina, KS where he began working at a TV & electronics shop and later starting their own business named Television Engineering.

He traveled to churches with Paula where she preached. In most of the churches they attended he handled the PA systems on Sunday mornings.

In 2006 he retired and moved to Newton, KS. Dean became ill in 2013 and then moved to Kansas Christian Home where he resided until his death.

He is survived by: his 3 children, Judy Anderson & husband Jerry, Louisburg, KS; Cindy Shelton & husband Dennis, Manhattan, KS; & Gary Bell & wife Denny, Newton, KS. Grandchildren: Shelly, Krisie, Maggie, Jerri, Ken, Laurie; Josh, Luke, Adam, Misty, Peggy, Tiffany & 16 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, infant son & 2 siblings.

Celebration of life services will be held at 1:00PM Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the First Christian Church in Newton, KS.

Burial will take place at 11:30AM at the Price Cemetery, Lebanon, KS on March 3, 2016.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials be given to the Dean Bell memorial fund and can be sent in care of the mortuary.
