Michael Scherer, 46, of Boyertown died Sunday afternoon, Feb. 28, 2016, at the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center Emergency Room.
Born Aug. 19, 1969, in Plainfield, N.J., he was a son of Jeanette (Marigliano) Scherer of Benton, and the late Charles S. Scherer who died Jan. 17, 2008.
He was a 1987 graduate of North Plainfield High School in North Plainfield, N.J., and also had his CDL License.
Michael was employed by ABM Security of Boyertown, and previously drove truck and worked in construction.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, North Plainfield, N.J. His hobbies included fishing, golfing and spending time with his family. He enjoyed working on cars and just “fixing things.”
Surviving, in addition to his mother, Jeanette, are a daughter, Lynn Scherer, of Boyertown; his significant other, Paige Baxter, and her son, Brodie Baxter, of Boyertown; his three brothers: Charles S. Scherer Jr., Benton; Christopher Scherer of North Plainfield, N.J.; and Wayne Scherer and his wife, Miriam, of Bloomsburg. Also surviving are three nieces: Brianna, Jacquelyn, and Daisy; two nephews: Christopher and Jacob; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the McMichael Funeral Home Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (Route 487), with Father David M. Hereshko, Christ the King Catholic Church of Benton, officiating.
