Patrick E. Moss, age 90, of Marietta, GA went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 28, 2016.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta with Chaplain Clarence Sinkler officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with military honors.

Born November 27, 1925 in Smyrna, GA he was the son of the late Rev. Norman L. Moss and Mary Osby Higgins Moss. He is also preceded in death by his son, Russell J. Moss and his wife, Sue Ray-Moss. As a lifetime resident of Cobb County he attended Osborne High School. Always active in all types of sports, swimming, football, and Golden Gloves until he was 16 and enlisted in WWII. He joined the USMC serving on Bougainville, Guadalcanal, and several other islands in the South Pacific. He received 2 Purple Hearts, Bronze Star with 3 Battle Stars and Presidential Unit Citations. After long confinements in VA Hospitals, he returned to Marietta. He worked in the auto parts industries until 1981 when it was necessary for him to retire due to battle injuries. His service in the USMC became increasingly significant in recent years. He was touched each time someone thanked him for his service.

Survivors are his wife and son; grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a special list of friends.
