Winston Joel Blakely Sr., 74, of California, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at his residence. He was born October 5, 1940 in Chicago, Ill., the son of Johnston and Bertha (Dulek) Blakely, who preceded him in death. He was married to Kathy Harris on June 27, 1986, in Janesville, Wis., who survives at the home. Winston was in the United States Army from May 1958 to April 1961. He retired from Yellow Freight Trucking Company in 1998. Winston loved gardening, fishing, and spending time with family. He loved watching Pinto football, and was a die-hard Chicago Bears fan. Winston is survived by his wife of the home; four daughters: Donna (Pat) Griffin, Karen (Bruce) Bradley, Pamela (Wendall) Krahmer, Sandra (Sing) Sayarath; two sons: Joe (Dena) Blakely, C J Blakely with fiancÈe Kayla McKechnie; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and one brother, John Blakely. He was preceded in death by one brother, Burton Blakely; and one granddaughter, Isabelle Blakely. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. Officiating will be Chaplin Bart Larson. Burial will be at California City Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May, 20, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California.
