Actor. He was born in Postdam, Germany. He appeared in over 300 films in a career that spanned 50 years, from his debut in 1920 to his death. For american audiences, he is fondly remembered in the hilarious role Count von Droste Schattenburg in Billy Wilder's film "One, Two, Three" (1961). His many credits also include "Die Todesmaske" (1920), "Manon Lescaut" (1926), "Doña Juana" (1927), "Das FlötenKonzert von Sanssouci" (1930), "Der Raub der Mona Lisa" (1931), "Der Weisse Dämon" (1932), "Fanny Elssler" (1937), "Bel Ami" (1939), "Frau Luna" (1941), "Münchhausen" (1943), "Das Mädchen Rosemarie" (1958), "Ein Mann Geht Durch Die Ward" (1959), "Das Spukschloss im Spessart" (1960), "Neues Vom Hexen" (1965) and "Nachbarn Sind Zum Argern Da" (1970). He died in Hamburg, Germany.
