Samuel "Jack" Reeves

Jack was born on April 8, 1932 in Forestburg, Texas and went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 4, 2015. Jack’s family moved to Bakersfield when Jack was a young boy. Jack attended Kern County Union High School and worked as an usher at the Nile Theater. After Jack graduated from high school he served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was stationed for a time in Okinawa, Japan, were he gained an appreciation for Japanese art. Jack had a successful career in the Mapping Department for Pacific Gas & Electric where he worked until he retired. After retirement Jack moved to Yuma, Arizona, a place that he dearly loved and had many good friends. Jack loved collecting antiques, gardening and taking photographs to share with his family and friends. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Pauline Ella Reeves and Samuel A. “Buck” Reeves, his brothers Billy W. Reeves and Jerry E. Reeves. He is survived by his brothers James E. Reeves and his wife Charlotte Reeves and Bobby D. Reeves, his sister Joyce R. Adams, his sister-in-law MaryAnn Reeves (Billy), his nieces and nephews Leslee R. Vincent (Ross), Barri M. Whitten (Derrill), Erin Reeves-McMillan (Mike), Susan J. Futrell (Jim), Nancy J. Lerma (Ron), Joseph S. Adams (Sandra), Diane Bennett (Bert) ,Dana Reeves, Jamie Reeves, Malinda Reeves, Jacqueline Reeves, and 11 great nieces, 14 great nephews and 1 great-great niece, 2 great-great nephews and many cousins. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 10 am at Greenlawn on River Boulevard.
