Mr. Joseph F. Fowler, 81, formerly of DeWitt, died Friday morning, February 26, 2016 at Kahl Home in Davenport.
Joseph Fredrick Fowler was born July 14, 1934, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Joseph Lloyd and Julia (Dorgan) Fowler. Following high school he graduated from the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley.
Joseph married Mary Jane Witty, of Munising, Michigan, on September 1, 1957. The couple resided in DeWitt from 1963 through 1987 where they raised their son Mark and daughter Gena.
While living in DeWitt, Joe worked as salesman in the electrical supply industry.
Surviving are his son, Mark Fowler of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren, Gretchen (Greg) Hollingsworth, Sean Roorda and Brennan Roorda; great-grandchildren, Grant and Graeme; and son-in-law, Doug Roorda.
His wife preceded him in death on November 15, 2006. Also preceding Joe in death in addition to his wife and parents was his daughter, Gena Fowler-Roorda, in 2012.
At his request no services will be held. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sault Ste. Marie in the Spring.
