Evelyn Douberly Lane, 94, of Jesup, Ga. died Monday, February 29, 2016 at her home and under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. The Wayne County, Ga. native was a charter member of Parkway Church of God and Senior Adult Sunday School Class. For many years, she worked for Manhattan and Ashley Manufacturing Company and later in life, was a Golden Lady with the Press Sentinel and volunteered with Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. For many years, she prepared a meal every other week for her many family and friends to keep the closeness in her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Connie Sinclair Lane; parents, Daniel and Mina Crosby Douberly; daughter, Oliene Lane Warner; grandson, Ricky Warner; granddaughter, April Lane; sisters, Jewel Lane and Florence Geneva Hyers; brothers, James and Harold Douberly; son-in-law, Bill Zeagler.

Survivors are her daughters, Dannette (Graham) Larson, Lucy (Bobby) Kicklighter, and Beverly Zeagler of Jesup; sons, Ray (Florence) Lane and Wilbur “Bill” (Barbara) Lane of Jesup; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Ward and Shirley (Dean) Zeeb of Jesup, Sara Nance of Paducah, Kentucky; brother, Daniel “Boots” Douberly of Jacksonville, Florida; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Parkway Church of God with Pastors Bill and Rita Harper officiating. Interment will be in the Screven City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tom Lane, Barry Hall, Sean Zeagler, Lee Sapp, Lenn Martin, Dillon Madray, Blake Herrin and Kevin Warner.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 prior to service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkway Church of God Building Fund, 2303 US Highway 341, Jesup, GA 31546.
