Stanley Hill Cooper, Jr., age 88 of Paris, TN, passed away Monday March 1, 2016 at his residence in Paris.

Funeral service 2:00PM Friday March 4, 2016 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Pastor David Allbritten of Kirksey United Methodist Church, Kirksey, KY officiating, burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery.

He was born November 18, 1927 in Red Level, AL to the late Stanley Hill Cooper, Sr. and Lois Costen Cooper. On July 24, 1961 he married Dovie Cole Cooper, she preceded June 22, 2011.

Stanley was a U.S. Marine veteran and past commander of VFW Post #1889.
He was a three-sport star at Grove, lettering in track, football and basketball before graduating in 1946. He attended Mississippi State University on a basketball scholarship and graduated from Murray State University.

He taught in the Henry County school system for 40 years and coached at Puryear, Henry and Henry County high schools for 25 years.

While at HCHS, Cooper taught driver education and had three students win state championships
