Lena Peters was the daughter of Nicholas Peters and Magdalena Gudenkauf. She married Nick Stodden on September 16, 1890 in Danbury, Woodbury County, Iowa. They were the parents of: Gertrude, Frank, Lucile, and Franziska Stodden.

"MRS LENA STODDEN DIES IN OMAHA Services Held Here for Mother of Former Mapleton Doctor: Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Stodden, mother of Dr. F.J. Stodden of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Mapleton, were held here Thursday morning in St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Rev. A. H. Ochen was in charge of the services. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery under direction of the Hyers funeral home.

Mrs. Stodden died shortly after suffering a stroke Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Fitch, in Omaha where she had lived the past few years.

Mrs. Stodden was the widow of Nicholas Stodden of Mapleton who died several years ago. She is survived by her son, Dr. Stodden, and daughter Mrs. Fitch. Another daughter preceded her in death several years ago."
