Claire Ann (Frank) Drake, 84, of Huntingdon, where she has resided since 1953, went to be with The Lord at 4:46 A.M. on Monday, February 29, 2016, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born April 4, 1931 in Mount Union, she was a daughter of the late Jay William and Nellie Grace (McGaughey) Frank. She was united in marriage to Harold C. Drake on November 27, 1953, at the First Methodist Church, Mount Union, by the Reverend W. Murray Young. Mr. Drake survives at their residence.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and two sons, Debra Drake and George Green of Huntingdon, David Drake and his wife, Andree, of East Berlin, Diane Weld of Huntingdon, and Douglas Drake and his wife, Jane, of East Berlin. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Dr. Tyler Drake and Alaina Boyle of Austin, TX, Morgan Stoudnour and her husband, Andrew, of Saxton, Caitlin Green of Philadelphia, Alyssa and Kara Drake, both of East Berlin; and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Claire Stoudnour. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by four brothers and a sister, Jay W. Frank, Jr., Robert Frank, John Carey Frank, Glenn R. Frank, and Lois (Frank) Oser.

Mrs. Drake was a member of the Fifteenth Street United Methodist Church, Huntingdon, since 1957, where she belonged to the United Methodist Women and Daughters of Ruth Sunday School Class. She also taught various children’s classes within the church.

She was a member of the auxiliary to the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Pink Ladies’ Cancer Support Group, Huntingdon Relay for Life Survivor and Cardiac Rehab Groups, P.A.R.S.E., A.A.R.P., and a former Girl Scout Leader. She was also a member of the reunion committee for Mount Union High School Class of 1949, and a member of the New Image Gym.

Mrs. Drake was a 1949 graduate of Mount Union High School where she participated on the high school marching band.

She was first employed by Bell Telephone Co. of Huntingdon, and later worked for Tuscarora Intermediate Unit, McVeytown, as an educational aide. She was subsequently employed at Jack and Jill Nursery School at the 15th Street United Methodist Church and Abbey Reformed United Church of Christ, both of Huntingdon, until her retirement in 2003.

Mrs. Drake loved reading and staying in close contact with her many friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at Noon on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the Fifteenth Street United Methodist Church, 1500 Moore St., Huntingdon, with the Reverend Fred E. Hickok officiating. Friends will be received in the church immediately following the service. Private interment will be in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Walker Township, Huntingdon.
