On July 21, 1962 she married Charles J. Spencer in Chelsea, and he survives. Also surviving is one son, Raymond (Sallie) Spencer of Bellevue; two granddaughters: Mollie and Gracie; brothers and sisters: Charles Romine of Georgia, Paula (Fred) Schaff of Florida, Rhonda (Jim) Thompson of Milan, Randy Romine of Georgia, and Karen Bentley of Dexter, and sister-in-law Penny Romine of Chelsea; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Dawn Marie Spencer, son Charles J. Spencer, her parents, her step-father Raymond Canine, her brother James Romine, and nephew Thomas Schaff.
Joyce had lived in the Chelsea area for many years, where she raised her family. She lived at Ellsworth Lake, where she loved to fish and garden. She also enjoyed crocheting for her family.
For 11 years she worked as a beautician, owning her own beauty shop which suited her outgoing and loving personality. She also loved to dance and loved to spend time with her grandkids.
A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea. Burial followed at Washtenong Memorial Park, Ann Arbor.
