Jane Ray - 1933 - 2016 Obituary
Jane Rutland Ray, 82, died Jan. 12, 2016, after a brief illness. Born Sept. 19, 1933, to Aline and Julius Rutland, Jane was proud of her South Dallas roots and lifelong affiliation with Temple Emanu-El. She was a graduate of Forest Avenue High School and SMU. She married Gayle Ray of blessed memory in 1960, and they raised two wonderful sons Alex and Jordan. She is survived by her sons, Alex (Sharon) Ray and Jordan Ray; grandsons, Benjamin, Sam, Jimmy, Aaron and Garrett Ray; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 14 at Temple Emanu-El in the Olan Sanctuary followed by burial at Temple Emanu-El Cemetery on Howell Street. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Jane's memory to the Aline Rutland Prayer Book Fund at Temple Emanu-El, The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society or the charity of your choice .
