Ryan Timothy Rice, 29, of Columbus entered into his eternal resting place on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016.
He was born March 15, 1986, in Seymour. He was the son of Kevin Rice of Brownstown and Cynthia Ryan Rice of Columbus, both of whom survive.
Ryan was a 2004 graduate of Brownstown Central High School and was a construction worker who specialized in home renovations.
He had a kind and gentle soul and lived his life always helping others and spending time with loved ones. He enjoyed animals, music, movies, computer technology, photography, playing basketball, fishing and learning about United States history.
Other survivors include a sister, Jessica Rice of Jeffersonville; paternal grandfather, Jerry Rice, of Seymour; paternal stepgrandmother, Mary Rice of Seymour; foster grandmother, Debbie Cummings of Freetown; and several aunts, uncles and cousins, who he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Sally Lester Rice and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Ryan.
The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home in Brownstown. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of service. A graveside memorial ceremony and life celebration will be at Houston Cemetery at a later date for friends and family.
Memorials may be made to Houston Christian Church or Jackson County Humane Society.
