Rachael was born January 1, 1902 in Onekama, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Showalter) Kline.
She graduated from Onekama High School in 1921 and attended Central Michigan Teacher's College at Mount Pleasant. Rachael taught first and second grades at Oak Hill, fifth through eighth grades at Stronach and later taught in Pentwater. She retired in 1965 and moved to Lakeland, Florida but spent her summers in the Manistee area; returning to Manistee permanently in 1979.
On September 25, 1925 Rachael married Omer Boulanger who preceded her in death on October 14, 1971. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Boulanger is survived by her son Donald (Jean) Boulanger of Crystal Falls, Michigan and two daughters, Mrs. Alice (William) Towles of San Juan Capistrano, California and Mrs. Mary Esther (Donald) Robertson of Manistee; also 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rachael Boulanger was a member of the United Methodist Church of Manistee and of the Estelle Circle of the Church.
Reverend Richard Erickson officiated at her funeral and Mrs. Boulanger was buried in the Bertelson Cemetery in Onekama.
