Obituary for Wilma Waters Draper

Wilma P. Waters Draper, 92 of Coldwater passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Community Health Center of Branch County.

A funeral service will take place at 12:00 Noon Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Kimberly Jolley Dulin officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be Friday, February 26, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM and again Saturday prior to the service beginning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Wilma was born May 18, 1923 to Robert and Alice (Robinson) Hantz in Angola. She married Russell Waters on April 21, 1941 in Angola. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1978. Wilma married Donald Draper on October 26, 1985. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2004. She focused on raising her family prior to working at Wellman’s Grill in Angola as a waitress and then helping her son at Don & Dicks Flowers in Angola.

Wilma was a member of the Angola American Legion Auxiliary and also the Angola Professional and Business Women. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading newspapers, and rooting for IU Basketball. Wilma also liked taking bus trips with friends to area casinos. Her true joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren. Wilma will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother with a good sense of humor.

Mrs. Draper is survived by her children Russell Tom (Doris) Waters of Indianapolis, IN, Patricia Jolley of Coldwater, Ronald Ed (Ann) Waters of Fort Wayne, IN; her daughter-in-law Patricia Waters of Hamilton, IN; her brothers Ronald Mike (Donna) Hantz and Donald Ike (Linda) Hantz all of Angola, IN; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 15 great, great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; her son Richard L. Waters; her brothers Dean and Alfred Hantz; her sister Maxine Hantz; her son-in-law Santford Jolley; her grandson Robert B. Straw; and her great granddaughter Kayla Waters.
