Ross Ann Anderson, age 76 years, three months and 13 days, a resident of Anniston, passed away Thursday February 28, 2016 at her home.

Born September 12, 1939 in Mississippi County to the late Jessie & Mary Myers Skaggs, Ross Ann lived most of her life in Mississippi County; she lived in Texas several years where she worked for Texaco. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in East Prairie.

On July 7, 2000 she married Gary F. Anderson who preceded her in death on October 8, 2013.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kenny & Sherrie Ray of Paducah, Kentucky; one daughter, Kim Cornwell Frye of Anniston; one niece, Peggy Batts of Wickliffe, Kentucky; one grandchild whom she reared Judy (Richard) Wheatley of East Prairie; she was also survived by seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of relatives and many friends.

Besides her husband and parents, one son, Billy Ray, Jr.; one daughter, Laura Jean Cornwell; one brother, Larry “Gumbo” Skaggs; and one sister, Ruth Skaggs Louder; one niece Linda Maxwell also preceded Ross Ann in death.

Friends may call from 12 pm to 1 pm Tuesday in East Prairie. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 pm with Bro. Bill Adkisson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. Ponder Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
