Maxine was born in St. Louis Missouri on May 27th, 1938. Her parents Hartley Bullock and Irene Bullock both from Southern Illinois.
Maxine and Ralph Pope met in St. Louis, MO. Their first date was at Steak and Shake, and played lots of tennis. They were married on June 9th, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri. Married 59 years, would be 60 this coming June 2016.
Maxine had two brothers and one sister, Delores Alman (now deceased) brother Virgil, and brother David.
She graduated from Overland High School in Overland Missouri.
Maxine was a professional seamstress and made most of her own clothes for many years. She also made clothes for her children and her husband Ralph. In addition she made gowns and high end clothing for many friends and people in her Church.
Maxine was a devout Christian her entire life, and read the Bible verses several times a day without fail. In addition she was a professional decorator and decorated our entire home, as well as helping with others. Maxine painted several oil paintings, and played the piano until developing dementia several years ago.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ralph, son Daniel, daughter Katherine, and son Dale, now deceased, grand children include granddaughter, Cristina Pope and grandson, Shawn Degrand.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2016 at McDonald & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 on Friday prior to the service.
