William R. “Noody McLain, 71, of Oakman, passed away on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at Cordova Health and Rehabilitation.

Viewing will be held at Collins-Burke Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with a graveside service at Steadman Cemetery in Townley at 1 p.m. The Rev. Anthony Gilbreath will officiate.

McLain was preceded in death by his mother and father, Charlon Johnson “Sissy” McLain and William Robert “Cotton” McLain Sr.; and nephew, Jody Gross.

He is survived by his sister, Brenda Gross (Johnnie); two nephews, Bobby Gross (Jennifer) Gross of Georgetown, Texas, and Joel Gross of New Orleans, La.; two great-nephews, Robert and Chandler Gross; and one niece, Kayla Gross.

The family would like to thank the staff of Cordova Health and Rehabilitation for the kindness and loving care shown during McLain’s time of illness.
