Clinton was a true jack of all trades, farmed, was a carpenter, and retired from GPC in Muscatine. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He loved the outdoors, gardening and giving a lot to others, wood whittling primarily mushrooms and giving them away, and playing cards and chess. He was a jokester and prankster and yet was an excellent mentor to his family and many others.
His family includes five children, ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandsons; and a sister, Norma Cocklin of Wapello. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pat; daughter, Jane; two brothers, Everett and Donald Cocklin; and two sisters, Lila Cocklin and Kathryn Brown.
The funeral ceremony for Clinton Cocklin will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello with Rev. Pam Kranzler officiating. Burial will follow at the Harrison Cemetery, rural Wapello, with military rites.
