He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Beth Compton Teague of Sevierville; son, Joe Compton and wife Amy of Sevierville; grandchildren, Kandra McCarter and fiance Chad Spurling, Kenzi McCarter, Kori McCarter, Jessica Chambers and husband Jesse, Olivia Reppert and husband Guy, Jacob Benedict and wife Megan; great-grandchildren, Cooper Redding, Oliver Reppert, and Gracelyn Benedict; brother and best friend, Chris Compton and wife Sandy; beloved sister, Jean Ayers and husband Tommy; brother Eddie Compton and wife Esther; special brother-in-law, Curtis Owenby; sisters-in-law, Billie Harper, Gail Owenby all of Sevierville, Debra Rogers of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Mary Lou Hackett and husband Buzz of Saddlebrooke, Arizona; Vickie Owenby of Knoxville; and numerous nieces and nephews and hundreds of friends.

Special thanks to Jon Coppinger and the staff of LeConte Medical Center ICU who treated Ron and all of us like family.
