Douglas Clinton Barton, was born May 21, 1893, departing this life January 29, 1983 at the age of 89 years, 8 months, and 8 days. He was born in Macon county, the son of Martin Jasper and Mary Susan Marsh Barton. He was married to Joyce Ann Claiborne, July 6, 1912, she preceded him in death July 23, 1975.
He professed faith in Christ in early life and later united with Long Fork Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until death.
He is survived by one son Elder D.C. Barton of Louisville, Kentucky, two daughters, Mrs. Irene Patterson and Mrs. Clovis Ramsey both of Lafayette, Tennessee, nine grandchildren, eighteen great grand children and one great great grandchild.
