He was born Nov. 23, 1931, in Newington, N.H., the son of Walter and Nellie Pickering.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Leon and Walter Jr. and two sisters, Marion and Marjory. His son, Roger, died in 2001.
He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict and served the town of Newington as a firefighter, a police officer, and the transfer station supervisor. Ken was a retired teamster and was one of the last small farmers in town. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his potato garden.
Ken is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Morrell; two sons, Kenneth Jr. and Paul and one daughter, Barbara Moynahan. Ken's family also includes four grandchildren, Troy, Jonathan, Stacy and Sean; and two great-grandchildren, Haley and Rowynn, along with several nephews and a niece.
