Preceded in death by his father, Calvin Crooke, mother, Clementine Crooke, brothers, Richard and William Crooke, brother in law, Tommy Goodson, sister in law, Lois Crooke and great-granddaughter, Katelyn Payne.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Crooke, step-son Ray (Debi) Milam, Granddaughters, Lindsey Milam and Michele (Derrick) Payne, great-granddaughters, Reagan, Addison and Caroline Payne; brothers, Charles, Butch (Norma), Tommy (Bonnie), George (Glenda), sisters, Betty Goodson, Diane (Larry) Manning; sister in laws, Barbara Crooke and Phylliss Crooke all of Pensacola. He also had numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Bob was a humble, caring, selfless, brave and loving husband, father and grandfather who they called PaPaw.
The oldest of nine children, he enlisted in the US Army Air Corp., reaching First Lieutenant, where he completed 22 combat missions over enemy territory, received 4 Bronze Stars, the Certificate of Valor, the Purple Heart and Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters. He then joined the US Air Force Reserve and went on to graduate from Georgia Tech in 1949 with a BS degree in Industrial Management.
Graveside services will be held at Bayview Memorial Park, 3351 Scenic Hwy on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 11:00 am, Pat Mobley officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice in memory of Robert Crooke.
