Nancy Frank passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 in her Butler home surrounded by family following a battle with heart disease and dementia. She was 83.

She was born February 15, 1933 to parents William Clinton & Wilma M. (Denoon) Cizek in Cleveland, Ohio. She was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School with the class of 1951, and went on to further her education at the Mansfield General School of Nursing earning her nursing degree in 1954.

On April 14, 1956, she married John T. Frank and raised two daughters. Nancy worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years at different doctor’s offices locally and McConnelsville, Ohio. In between 1972 and 1983 Nancy was a nurse in Ashland for Dr.’s Henry and Vera Chalfant, which she enjoyed immensely and later retired from nursing in 1995.

In spare time, she took pleasure in playing bridge. Nancy was a very excellent and competitive player. She was active in the Duplicate Bridge Club of both Mansfield and Ashland, and played in regional tournaments. Along with enjoying baseball and football, Nancy was a WWII history buff. She was very knowledgeable and particularly interested in the European Theater of the war. She was member of Three Crosses Church a United Methodist Fellowship in Butler for over 10 years and always looked forward to entertaining, cooking, and baking desserts.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years John Frank of Butler; daughters and sons-in-law Leslie & Steve Cox and LeeAnn & Jerry Hitchman; grandchildren and spouses Ryan & Amber Cox, Jennifer & Mike Richards, Aaron & Savannah Hitchman, Alexis & Matthew Schwab, and Ashley (fiancé Heath Hamilton) Hitchman; great-grandchildren Jason Cox, Leland Hitchman, Everett Hitchman, and one on the way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Carrie Denoon.

Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home (2553 Lexington Ave in Mansfield) where a funeral service celebrating her life will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Pastor Keith McLaughlin will officiate and burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
