Johnny Hugh Smith Sr., 79, of Gates passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at his residence.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 PM Saturday evening at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley. Funeral services will be 4 PM Sunday at Garner Funeral Home with burial to follow in Concord Cemetery near Gates.
Mr. Smith, a member of the Gates Church of God Holiness, was a retired Pastor, school bus driver, and farmer.
The husband of Jenny Wren Stokes Smith, he is survived by a daughter Deborah McFarland of Jackson; 2 sons Johnny Smith Jr. and Tim Smith both of Ripley; 2 sisters Jeanette Buckner of Nesbit, MS and Ruby Pace of Ripley; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
