"WEESAW TOWNSHIP, April 7-- Mrs. Amanda J. Flowers resident of Weesaw township for sixty years, died Friday afternoon, April 2 after an Illness of more than two weeks.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Christian church at Hills' Corners, the Rev. John English officiating, near Glendora. Burial was in Weesaw cemetery.

Pall bearers were R. G. Hill, D. Pierce, N. Styburski, August Mensinger, Grove Lewin and T. C. Carpenter.

Before her marriage, Mrs. Flowers was Amanda Jane Loan, born in St. Joseph county, Indiana March 11 1842. In December 1858 she became the Benjamin Gallinger and after his death was married to William Flowers who preceded her in death.

By her, first marriage she had nine children, all of whom survive: Edward E., of Glendora; Mrs. Martha J. Jerue, Chicago; George B., of Galien; Mrs. Mary A. Servis, Three Oaks; Mrs. Arminta Lapdeis, South Bend, Ind.; Frank O., Baroda; Mrs. Emily E. Hall. South Bend; Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell, Bridgman; Charles B., Monticello, Ind.

She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Martha V. Walker, of Los Angeles, Calif., 29 grandchildren and uG great grandchildren." From The Herald-Press, April 7, 1926, page 7
