He was born in Galena on January 29, 1918 to the late Walter and Leona (Wherry) Bale in the house where he lived. Graduate of Orange High School, US Army Veteran of WW II, retired from Nestle's formerly of Sunbury and then worked for Producers Livestock. Member of West Berlin Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post #0171, , Olentangy Western Riding Club, the former Africa Wesleyan Methodist Church, Delaware County Farm Bureau, Delaware County Agricultural Society, Ohio Belgian Breeders Assoc., , National Rifle Assoc. Bob was also a 4-H leader and involved in 4-H for 46 years.
Survived by Daughter and Son-in-law: Helen (Sam) Kimpel of Elida; Grandchildren: Sam R. Kimpel of Delphos and Margaret Anna Kimpel of Elida; Brothers: Walter (Jo) Bale of Sunbury, Clarence (June) Bale of Chesterville; Nephew: Jerry (Sarah) Bale of Centerburg.
Proceeded in death by his wife of 54 years: Anna "Pat" Bale on July 5, 1999.
