Shirley attended East Rainelle Grade School and was a 1953 graduate of Rainelle (WV) High School. She served on the many committees for their class reunions and All-School Reunions. She had been a 30 year resident of Hyattsville, MD. There she raised two fine sons and made many friends. She was an 18 year volunteer member of the Green Meadows Chillum Boys and Girls Club. She served on the Board of Directors and held many positions in the club. Upon her husband's retirement they returned to Rainelle. She has been a member of the Rainelle First Baptist Church since the age of 12 years. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Paul Blankenship.
