Juanita Faye Hollis-Ellis passed away on February 12, 2016. Juanita was born in Criner, Oklahoma on May 3.1930. The thirteenth child of a Scottish farmer Caris C. Hollis, who was married to her Irish mother, Lena S. Dunn. Juanita grew up in an era when children worked the farm. Her childhood was spent in Oklahoma.
Juanita moved to California in 1948 with her husband, Charles P. Stephens (deceased 1950), and daughter Sharon Stephens. Following his death, Juanita met her second love, Lewis S. Ellis (deceased 1971), married, and had four more children. She managed motels and restaurants while raising five children until her second husband died. Juanita then decided to get her real estate license, which kept her busy until retirement. She loved large family gatherings with food and merriment, whether it be with the Hollis or Ellis families. Juanita loved life and enjoyed, in her words, "Fun and Frolic". Slowing down in her later days, she would say to Judy, her youngest daughter and care giver, "What are we doing today? Let's just go and do something, even if it's wrong!" She did all she could and gave all she had for her children, who will dearly miss her.
Blessed to have known Juanita, are her five children and spouses; Sharon and Kurt Jackson-Arizona, Deana and Jim Copellar-Texas, Roger and Karen Ellis-California, Judy and George Naman-Mississippi, and Jerry Ellis and Judy Taylor-California. Juanita was also blessed with 12 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us all.
