DUNNELLON - Wendell Swanton Brewster, 90, a retired coach, teacher and school principal, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, in Lecanto.
A native of Dexter, Maine, he moved to Dunnellon from South Paris, Maine, in 1972.
Mr. Brewster was assistant chief of the Citrus Springs Fire Department and past president of the Citrus Springs AARP. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
He was a trustee of Community Congregational Community Church.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ruth Knight Brewster, Dunnellon; daughter, Patricia Jordan, Dunnellon; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
