Carl G. Larsen, of Sandy Hook died February 19, 2016 at the Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, Danbury. He was the husband of the late Etta Mae (Haste) Larsen.

Carl was born in Redding on February 1, 1927 the son of the late Carl G. & Rose (Howard) Larsen. He was an ironworker with Union Local 424. Carl was a craftsman, making furniture for friends and family. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946.
Carl was a devoted father to Wayne Larsen & wife Nancy of Winsted; Sharon (Larsen) McLeod & husband John Of Michigan; and Donna (Larsen) Glover & husband Lee of Sandy Hook. He was devoted Grandfather to Bobbi Jo Pellicone & Husband Chris with whom he resided with for the past 4 years and John, Dawn and Michael McLeod & Erica Larsen. Also survived by 15 Great-Grand-children, and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild, several nieces and nephews & cousins. He was predeceased by a grandson, Victor Larsen. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Carl had a wonderful sense of humor. Even with what he was going through, he would never complain. The family would like to thank all the nurses, C.N.A.’s and staff at Regional Hospice for their warm hearts and wonderful care of our father. A Special Thank You to Colleen and Arthi for your care of Carl at home. You both made each day a little brighter. We would like to thank Dr. Howard Kaplan of Danbury for his care and friendship.

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown Thursday February 25, 2016 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. A prayer service will be held at 5:30pm. Interment in Newtown Village Cemetery will take place in the Spring.
